A collaborative online platform that facilitates a more inclusive design process.

Thesis project | 2022

The lack of diversity in product development is why a company like Google launched Project Understood five years after releasing its voice technology—when they realized it wasn’t inclusive of people with speech impairments.

This is why I created Able: a tool for designing a more inclusive world by eliminating barriers caused by inaccessible environments. It offers designers opportunities to learn from the experiences of people with disabilities, foster empathy, and co-design inclusive products across various design disciplines.

Every aspect of Able is designed with accessibility in mind. The platform’s typeface was selected to be easily readable for people with visual impairments, ensuring clear distinctions between similar characters, such as uppercase I, lowercase L, and the number 1.

The color palette follows accessibility guidelines, using softer shades instead of true white for gentler contrast.

Even the web icons feature slight imperfections, adding a human touch to the platform, complemented by organic underlines and arrows.
