Because accessibility isn't one-size-fits-all.

Brand: Wendy’s

Owey, a young boy with a visual impairment, and his mom stopped for lunch at a Wendy's in Oshawa, Ontario, and were pleasantly surprised to find a braille and large print menu posted on the wall. So much so, that they posted a video on TikTok.

While Owey was showing off the menu, he pointed out that he couldn’t read all of it because it was written in contracted braille, which is hard to read for kids like Owey who are still learning.

Not being able to order off the kids' menu independently is just one more barrier kids with visual impairments face, but it's one we knew we could remove. So, we did. We created an uncontracted braille kids' menu—Every Kid's Menu—and sent it out to Wendy's across Canada on World Sight Day.

But it wasn't our news to share, it was Owey's. So, we sent him an uncontracted braille letter letting him know about the menu he'd inspired along with some tactile, braille Wendy's gifts.
